Dead Animals and The Sift: Why I am a Vegetarian

Until I was about 23 I ate meat. I had a normal British diet of meat, vegetables, instant noodles and 80% confectionery.

Then I ate a bad prawn curry and spent the following week shitting blood and snot, as my entire stomach lining exited my arsehole in tiny spurts, every 10 minutes.

Fearing death, I just instinctively lost all desire to eat meat after that. It started as pure instinct.

Then... when I was once again able to keep babyfood inside me for more than 20 seconds, I did some research on the internet, and came to the conclusion that animals suffer enormously from modern meat production, and that humans suffer from the pollution and bad quality food.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE meat eaters, this is not an attack on you, I think you're wonderful people. Except that you pay to have genetically freakish animals tortured, killed, skinned, chopped, packaged and delivered to your town.

Around about now some of you might be saying "oh how do you get (insert sciencey sounding nutrient here) in your diet?"

Whatever dude!!!! You carry on eating your fucked up processed and artificially coloured sugar/salt/meat diet and keep deluding yourself that you get more vitamins and protein than I do. Keep telling yourself that driving to a McDonalds is "natural" whereas eating leaves is "for rabbits".

People think that vegetarianism is outdated. This makes me sad. You fuckers eat so much meat and get so much diabetes, the need for vegetarianism has never been more relevant.

People don't know that the meat and cereal lobbies influenced the "food pyramid". This makes me sad.

When I went veg, it was an individual thing... I didn't initially care what anyone else ate, I would say "go ahead, can i cook you a hotdog or something?"..... until i found out just how much meat production pollutes the planet, and stuffs food into highly inefficient meat producing units called "cows" instead of feeding humans with it. Not to mention the whole thing with the sheeps brains and the cows that start walking backwards.

So hi there meat eaters, and a big fuck you! Especially if you eat meat and whine about "carbon quotas" or some such bullshit. You really think all that vitamin B12 is worth it? Should I be happy about paying for your second coronary bypass operation?

Ahhhh.... but it TASTES nice and you are (as I am) a hypocrite. Just admit it, instead of telling me I look thin. OK?

Welcome one and all to the videosift roast! Tonight we have a special treat as tonight's roastee is currently the Ranked Number #1 Zifnab!

What can be said about Zifnab that hasn't been said yet? (That is what we are going to find out...) He is a man who has contributed alot to the sift, and is likely to be the 2nd person to get their crown... That goes to show you that this guy doesn't have much of a life, especially since 1000 of his votes have been thanks to Zero Puncuation and beating everyone to posting it week after week...

As always, as my role as MC, I got to send Zifnab the famous Videosift Questionaire in hopes that he would reveal his darkest secrets to us so that we can exploit them... Here was the review!

1. What do you do when you are not at the computer?
Spend time with my family, read, play badminton, play volleyball, play pool, watch hockey.

2. What is your favorite of your posted videos?
hmm Tough one, I'd have to say these two:

Fry's 100 cups of coffee
My favorite Futurama bit.

Hockey Player Hit Through the glass.
Because I was at that game and I remember it fondly.

I've had 6 so far. First dragon, second dragon, Gandalf for a change, dracolich for the Fortnight of Fright, Dragon Yin-Yang (didn't last too long), and my current dragon.

There's more to the interwebs than the sift?? Proably Slashdot and TSN.

Nope, I'd just go back in time to when it was clean.

umm I'd guess 1:10. I don't go counting my underwear very often.

Most of the shots seem to be over my posting of Zero Punctuation reviews and the number of votes they consistently get...

I really enjoy Zero Punctuation reviews, they still haven't gotten old for me. I laugh every time, if I didn't enjoy them I wouldn't sift them no matter how many votes I thought they'd get.

I'd still have to say mlx, but since she's not active anymore it would be krupo and firefly.

39. Do you consider yourself emotional?
A little bit, I don't get emotional very often.

Doc_M is a rather interesting sifter. I first discovered this while reading the response to his survey. Especially what he does with his leisure time. Something we have in common is that we’re both practitioners of the martial art form of Tae Kwan Do. Except he has to go beyond that and play golf, and work in a lab. Now if this doesn’t sound like Gordon Freeman, I don't know what does. Think about it how could a scientist survive all that unless he had some basic self-defense training?

Now that got me thinking and I finally made the connection. Doc_M bases his sad life on various video game characters. Although he admits to collecting underwear as feverishly as Gene Simmons collects STD’s, and claims his favorite soup is French onion soup, or as it’s called in the White House cafeteria, Freedom onion soup. But when asked about his fashion sense Doc_M admits to dressing like Dr. Gregory House. Clearly there is identity confusion on his part.

Besides not being able to distinguish himself from imaginary characters, I’m sure he has some fine qualities, but I don’t have all day to strain myself to spin facts so that any of them sound desirable. But enough with my ramblings, roast em!

Our own Monster of Ceremonies, gorgonheap, will lead us in a dissection of Doc_M on Friday, April 25th @ 5:00pm MST. All participants are invited to bring their scalpels and other appropriate tools for this siftious endeavor. Medical records and other pertinent information will be made available in this thread.

Sifters not already part of the dissection may participate, but their names will go into the pool for future dissections.
